The 6 Days Marangu Route, also known as the “Coca-Cola Route,” is the oldest and most established route on Mount Kilimanjaro.
It is the only route that offers hut accommodation instead of tents, making it a popular choice for climbers seeking more comfort. This route is direct and scenic, taking you through lush rainforests, moorlands, and up to the icy summit of Uhuru Peak.
Morning: After breakfast and a briefing, drive from Moshi or Arusha to Marangu Gate for registration. Begin the trek through dense montane rainforest, where you may spot colobus monkeys and various bird species.
Afternoon: Arrive at Mandara Hut after an easy hike through the lush forest. In the afternoon, you have the option to take a short hike to the Maundi Crater for panoramic views.
Evening: Settle into the huts, enjoy dinner, and rest for the night.
Accommodation: Mandara Hut (shared huts).
Morning: Spend the day at Horombo Hut to acclimatize and increase your chances of a successful summit. You have the option to take a short hike to Zebra Rocks (4,020m) or further up towards Mawenzi Hut (4,315m).

Morning: After spending some time at the summit, begin your descent back to Kibo Hut for a brief rest.

Evening: Enjoy dinner and relax after a long day of trekking.
